Objective : Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete; Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has in a simple way - to attain the (*CEFR) A1.1 level.

Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. Can understand the purpose, structure and main idea of short text on familiar matters (e.g. on notices, posters or in catalogues). Can produce short text based on a picture. Can fill in a form/questionnaire with personal details (e.g. name, nationality, address).

A1 - Beginner 2nd year

Objective : Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help - to attain the (* CEFR) A1 level.

Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, school) provided the other person talks slowly.

 

Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

 

Can understand the purpose, structure and main idea of short text on familiar and routine matters (e.g. on notices, posters or in catalogues). Can extract specific information from short text. Can fill in a form/questionnaire with personal details about him/herself (e.g. name, nationality and address). Can write a short piece of correspondence (e.g. post card). Can produce short text based on pictures (e.g. diary entry, short story, description) and familiar and routine matters.

 

A.2 - Elementary

Objective : Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).Can communicate (oral and written) in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters - to attain the (* CEFR) A2 level.

Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.

Can understand the purpose, structure and main idea of text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. Can extract specific information from clear, detailed text.

 

 

Can write a short piece of correspondence (e.g. a thank you note). Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. Can produce short text describing experiences and events.
