CECRL niveauxThe language assessment examinations offered by the Institut français de Chypre are calibrated to coincide with the different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the framework for the assessment of foreign language proficiency from beginner level (A1) to mastery (C2). 

The Council of Europe’s framework is an essential tool in determining the level of competency of a foreign language learner, in regards to his/her linguistic know-how.  French proficiency certifications provided by the French Institute of Cyprus

DELF (French Studies Diploma) and DALF (Advanced French Studies Diploma) are issued by the French Ministry of Education, are internationally recognized and valid for life. They evaluate the four communication skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. 

The TCF (French language proficiency test) is an language proficiency test. It assesses the candidate’s level of French at the time of the exam by positioning him/her at one of the six levels (from A1 to C2) of the competency scale defined by the Council of Europe (CEFR).
