L'art des instruments à vent

Thursday 4 January - Wine Museum, Erimi - 8:00 pm and Friday 5 January 2018 - Famagusta Gate, Nicosia - 8:00 pm

French romantic music is an important Era in the history of music and a landmark for the evolution of wind instruments. One of the most important composers of this period is Camille Saint-Saëns. He dealt with the writing and promotion of woodwinds, writing three sonatas for oboe, clarinet and bassoon and a Romance for flute. Indeed, the last work he wrote shortly before he died was the Sonata for Bassoon.

The aim of the artists is to bring these four masterpieces in one concert where the audience can have a comprehensive idea about them, get to know them and compare them, but also to exchange creative ideas. As they have studied in French-speaking countries with great tradition of performing French music, they want to approach Camille Saint-Saëns thinking and culture and present it clearly to the public.
